We invite you to nominate qualified applicants to attend a sponsored Training and Capacity Building Programme on Seismic Strengthening for Master Trainers in Luzon and the Visayas, Philippines to be conducted by the University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) in partnership with the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) of Singapore. The training aims to promote good construction practices and impart earthquake strengthening techniques to applicants who will qualify to avail the free 5-days training to be held at the University of the Philippines Diliman campus.
Successful applicants will be eligible to become “master trainers” and on Phase 2 of the project, train local builders by experiential learning during strengthening and retrofitting of a number of schools. Aside from attending the training, successful applicants will be entitled to meals and transportation allowance for the duration of the training. Successful applicants residing outside Metro Manila will also be entitled to accommodation.

a) Civil Engineers with 3-5 years work experience in design and/or construction, or Civil engineering faculty teaching structural and/or geotechnical courses, or Civil engineering graduate students with 12 units graduate course in structural engineering;
b) passing the aptitude examination (schedule to be announced); and
c) signing of a contract to serve as master trainers in training local builders during Phase 2 of the project (Phase 2 schedule to be arranged).
